Setting up on iPhone (iOS 16+)
Before you start, open the QR code email on a second device (a laptop, tablet or printed copy) — you cannot scan a QR code on the same screen that's displaying it.
- Buy your plan at ConnectivityHuB and open the QR code email on your second device
- On your iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
- Tap "Use QR Code" then scan the code from your email
- When prompted, label the new line "Thailand"
- Leave your UK number as the default for calls and texts; set the Thailand eSIM as your data line if flying within a few days — or leave it switched off until you land
iOS 17+ tip: you can also add an eSIM directly from your email app — tap the QR code image and select "Add Cellular Plan" if your iPhone offers it.
Setting up on Android (Samsung / Pixel)
- Buy your plan and open the QR code email on a second device or laptop
- Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM (Samsung) or Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM (Pixel / stock Android)
- Scan the QR code from your email
- Name the profile "Thailand"
- Set the Thailand eSIM as your preferred Mobile Data SIM
When to activate your eSIM in Thailand
Your eSIM will try to connect to AIS or TrueMove H automatically when you land and turn off Airplane Mode. If it doesn't connect within a few minutes, go to Settings → Cellular → Thailand line and toggle Data Roaming on.
A restart also clears most connection issues. Once connected, you should see the AIS or TrueMove H network name appear in your status bar.
Troubleshooting common issues
- No signal after landing
- Restart your phone. Check Data Roaming is switched on for the Thailand eSIM line in Settings → Cellular.
- QR code won't scan
- Increase screen brightness on the device showing the QR, remove any screen glare, and hold your phone 20–30cm away. If it still won't scan, use the manual activation code included in your confirmation email.
- eSIM not showing after scanning
- Restart your phone and check Settings → Cellular. The profile should appear there.
- "Already in use" error
- Contact ConnectivityHuB support — this occasionally happens if the QR was scanned more than once on different devices.
